About The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is being built to be more than a place to grab a drink after sport. It will be a place for people to meet, eat, drink and spend time together - whether they're here for sport, an event, a community activity, or to celebrate a special occasion.
We're building the operation from the ground up, so the people joining the team will have a real say in how it works. We want it to feel relaxed and welcoming, with a team that takes pride in doing things well.
We're looking for someone who is warm and approachable, sets high standards and supports the people around them. Someone who notices what needs doing, takes responsibility and gets stuck in, while keeping a calm and positive approach when things get busy.
About the role
The role is varied and hands-on. You'll work alongside the team on the bar and during service, but when you're the senior person on shift, you'll take responsibility for running the Clubhouse that day or evening.
You'll be trusted to make decisions and keep the Clubhouse running smoothly throughout your shift. You'll use your judgement, support the team and make sure everyone using the Clubhouse has a great experience, dealing with things as they arise.
The Clubhouse Hospitality Manager will work alternate weekends, with the Clubhouse Supervisor taking the lead on the weekends in between. The role is 40 hours a week and we're open to this being one full-time position or shared between two people.
What you'll be doing
Take responsibility for the Clubhouse when you're the senior person on shift.
Work alongside the team on the bar and café, serving customers, preparing drinks and food, and helping with events and busy periods.
Build good relationships with club members, regular customers and community groups, and help make the Clubhouse a welcoming place for everyone who uses it.
Make decisions on the day or night and keep the shift running smoothly.
Look after customers and Clubhouse visitors and resolve straightforward complaints or issues.
Keep the bar, café and customer areas clean, tidy and well-presented throughout the shift.
Make sure licensing, food safety and health and safety requirements are followed.
Complete opening and closing checks and make sure the Clubhouse is ready for service.
Help run events, sports days and community activities.
Help newer team members learn the Clubhouse and how we work.
Keep the Hospitality Manager up to date with anything from your shift that needs following up.
Spot things that could work better and suggest improvements.
How the role fits in the team
The Hospitality Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Clubhouse, including rotas, planning, training, team development, commercial performance and longer-term improvements.
The Supervisor is the senior person on shift when the Hospitality Manager isn't there. You'll work alongside the team, but you'll also have the responsibility and authority to make decisions and keep the Clubhouse running smoothly.
The Team Members are the people delivering the day-to-day service across the bar, café and events, working alongside the Supervisor and wider team.

Takes responsibility for their shift and follows things through.
Uses good judgement and is confident making decisions when they're the senior person on shift.
Stays calm, positive and respectful when things get busy or don't go to plan.
Looks after people well and deals with issues in a straightforward, professional way.
Cares about doing things properly and takes pride in the standards of the Clubhouse.
Treats colleagues with respect and helps create a team where people enjoy working together.
Is reliable and understands that the team and customers are depending on them.
You'll need solid experience working in hospitality and be comfortable taking the lead on a shift. Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is important, but we don't necessarily expect you to have managed a whole operation before.
What we can offer
£30,000 per year
40 hours per week - we're open to this being one full-time role or shared between two people.
