Front of House Team Member

About The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is being built to be more than a place to grab a drink after sport. It will be a place for people to meet, eat, drink and spend time together — whether they're here for sport, an event, a community activity, or to celebrate a special occasion.

We’re starting this from scratch, which means everyone joining us will have a chance to help shape the way we work and the kind of place the Clubhouse becomes. We want it to feel relaxed and welcoming, with a team that takes pride in doing things well.

We're looking for people who are warm and approachable, enjoy being part of a team and take pride in doing things well. People who notice what needs doing, get stuck in and help make the Clubhouse a place people enjoy coming back to.

About the role

The role is varied and hands-on. You'll work alongside the team on the bar and during service, but when you're the senior person on shift, you'll take responsibility for running the Clubhouse that day or evening.

You'll be trusted to make decisions and keep the Clubhouse running smoothly throughout your shift. You'll use your judgement, support the team and make sure everyone using the Clubhouse has a great experience, dealing with things as they arise.

The Clubhouse Hospitality Manager will work alternate weekends, with the Clubhouse Supervisor taking the lead on the weekends in between. The role is 40 hours a week and we're open to this being one full-time position or shared between two people.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve customers at the bar and café.

  • Prepare and serve drinks and simple food.

  • Take orders and handle payments accurately.

  • Keep the bar and café clean, tidy, well stocked and ready for service.

  • Help set up and clear away for events, sports days and community activities.

  • Work as part of the team during busy periods and help wherever needed.

  • Welcome club members, regular customers and visitors to the Clubhouse.

  • Follow food safety, licensing, health and safety and Clubhouse procedures.

  • Help with opening and closing the Clubhouse when required.

  • Let the Supervisor know about anything that needs attention.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for people who:

  • Are warm, friendly and approachable.

  • Enjoy helping customers and making people feel welcome.

  • Are reliable and turn up when they've committed to a shift.

  • Notice what needs doing and act on it.

  • Support their colleagues and step in to help when needed.

  • Stay calm and positive when things get busy.

  • Take pride in keeping things clean, tidy and well presented.

  • Care about doing things properly without making things complicated.

  • Treat colleagues and customers with respect.

Previous hospitality experience would be useful, but it's not essential. We're more interested in how you work, how you treat people and whether we can rely on you to get stuck in and do a good job.

What we can offer

  • £13 per hour for team members aged 21 and over

  • £11 per hour for team members aged 18–20

  • Flexible casual hours

  • Shifts across the week, including evenings and weekends

  • Training to help you feel confident in the role

  • Discounted food and drink

  • A varied role across hospitality, sport, events and community activities

  • Join a brand-new Clubhouse designed as a welcoming social space for sport, events and the wider community
